Videos are becoming more and more important and common in our lives. Digital photography offered various new use cases, e.g. in handys or cameras that become day-to-day consumer goods. The same happens now again, as modern SRLs offer HD video capabilities including slow-motion capturing with 60fps. Now, each and every photographer can record high-quality videos and expand his field of activity.

How do I organize this data volume? How do I keep track of what I capture? How I show my movies to prospects? We dealt with exactly these questions. With our online archive, you can archive, organize, present and sell your videos as you can do it with your images. The archive automatically creates preview videos in Internet quality as known from Youtube. Of course, the original video remains untouched. To capture the content of the video efficiently, the system creates several images from different scenes of the video. Thus, the visitor of your archiv is able to get an overview without having to watch the complete video.

How could my video archive look like?

In this example, you see a preview video with a water sign, which protects your content. The water sign is as customizable as the quality when your customers downloads the video. You can offer different resolutions of your video content. Your archive is resampling the original video on its own.

You can see a live example of the video archiving functionality at the agency Minkusimages.

Christoph Koch met Philippe Silacci, Media Operation Officer of FIG, for an interview at the 41st Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in London. Read more about background intentions of the FIG by using zensario.ImagePool. Silacci talks about the self-image of FIG, trying to enable equaled public relations and progressive communications.

10.10.2009 - London, GBR, Interview with Philippe Silacci, Media Operations Officer FIG

CK: What is the FIG aiming at with the new photo portal?

FS: Basically, we consider this new photo portal as a service performance for our federations worldwide. We provide a specific amount of free pictures for the federations and therefore, are supporting professional PR of our sports even in countries with low financial capacities.

CK: What is the general intention of the FIG with this new offer?

FS: The platform attempts to achieve equality and a broad coverage in public. We can now show gymnasts who usually would not be published, since they are not among the best. Gymnasts from Namibia and Thailand will be published online now. So to speak, the platform is going to extend democracy in our sport.

CK: How does the FIG use the software within the framework of 41st artistic gymnastics world championships?

FS: Fans are free to purchase any picture for 2 Euro. For FIG, this means to move with the times and to communicate progressively. Breaking new ground and using new media is essentially for our success. With respect to communication, we have 3 innovations here at 41st artistic gymnastics world championships: Public live results, live comments of decisions and an ongoing media coverage and documentation with the new photo portal www.fig-photos.com of the FIG.

CK: Thank you very much for this interview.
